December 23, 2009

Dear Member Agencies:

Once again it is time for the Eightieth Mid-Winter Education Meeting. We will be returning to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield, IL on Thursday and Friday, February 4 & 5, 2010. Please contact the hotel before January 13, 2010 at (800) 227-6963 or (217) 529-7777 to reserve your room at our group rate of $115.

Your Board of Directors has worked hard to set up a meeting that will provide you with six hours of CE credits. Our instructor this year will be Dr. David Downey, Executive Director and Professor Emeritus, Center for Food and Agricultural Business, Purdue University. Dr. Downey’s topic is titled “Selling Commercial Producers in a Dynamic Marketplace”. His presentation will focus on marketing and selling to farmers in a changing marketplace.

We will begin our CE Thursday afternoon at 1:00 PM, concluding at 4:30 PM. The Trade Show/Social Hour will follow from 6:00 to 7:30 Thursday evening. On Friday morning we will start with breakfast at 7:15 AM followed by an update from Phil Lackman, IIA-Illinois Vice President for Government Relations with a legislative update at 8:30 AM. At 9:00 AM Dr. Downey will continue our CE until noon.

This has always been a great time to meet old and new friends whether they are company or agency and get continuing education credit as well. We hope to see you in Springfield on February 5 & 6, 2009.

Also, please keep June 17 & 18, 2010 open on your calendar for the annual meeting. Your Board of Directors is planning to offer three hours of ethics training, presented by a speaker that will satisfy the new state requirements.

I look forward to seeing everyone in Springfield.

Sincerely,
Randy D. Jacobs, Secretary
